She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph H. Harkins, III; her parents, Herbert Sherman and Irene Sherman (Crowley); her brother Joseph Sherman; and her son-in-law Harold Cook.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph H. Harkins, IV of Bellingham, Diane M. Harkins of Bellingham, Barbara A. Cook of St. Robert, Theresa I. Best (Patrick) of Johnston and Christine M. Harkins of Franklin; her grandchildren, Jennifer Cook (Joshua Cook), Elizabeth Cook of Vista, Sgt. Ryan Best, Barksdale and Heather Best of Johnson, RI; her great grandchildren, Adam of St. Robert, Christopher of St. Robert and Eric of St. Robert; and her sister Patricia Walton of Connecticut.
