He was predeceased by: his parents, William O'Connell and Mary O'Connell (McGrath); his wife MaryLou O'Connell (Scanlon); his siblings, Bernice McAteer (John), Thomas O'Connell (Marie), Paul O'Connell, Barbara FitzGerald and David O'Connell (Joan); his son-in-law Thomas C. Wright Jr.; and his niece Judy Poglitsch.
He is survived by: his children, Maureen Catallo (George) of Manhasset, NY, Jean Lively (Jay) of Mashpee, Suzanne McCabe (Brian) of Andover and Andrew O'Connell of Arlington; his grandchildren, Caitlin Wright, Bridget Wright, Katarina Catallo, Griffen Catallo, Kyle McCabe and Olivia McCabe; and his siblings-in-law, James FitzGerald and Peggy O'Connell.
