He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Gallant (Ballantine); his daughter Anne Manning; and his brother Abel. He is survived by: his children, Patty Lyman (Christopher) of Wilmington, Robert Gallant, Cindy Crawford of North Reading and Richard Gallant; his children-in-law, Shawn Manning of Hudson, NH and Virginia Gallant of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Catherine, Alessandra (Ukwen), Jacqueline (Tim), Kristina (Jay), Heather (Matt), Philip (Maria), Matthew and Rebecca; his great grandchildren, Evia, Miya, Bella and Benjamin; and his siblings, Charles Gallant of Lynn, John, Ernest, Lloyd, Elmo, Leonard Gallant and Eileen Correia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
