He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P and Mary F Blake (McKinnon); his wife Eileen M. Blake (Mirabello); and his daughter Eileen "Chickie" Blake. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joseph's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
