He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shields and Mary Shields (Elwell). He is survived by: his siblings, Diane O'Connell (Jack) of Melrose, Carol Shields of Somerville, Jim Shields (Gale) of Dracut and Michael Shields of Somerville; his nieces, Kristen Manning (Scott) of New Hampshire and Jill Natalucci (Jeff) of Saugus; and his nephew Nathan Shields of Somerville. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews.
