He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Nelson and Ruth B. Nelson (Thomas); and his siblings, Louise Bubier, David Nelson and Christine Nelson.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn R. Nelson (Dunn) of Lancaster, MA; his children, Michelle J. Crocker (John C.) of Lancaster, MA, Robyn M. Cunha of Clinton, MA and Brian R. Nelson (Trisha M.) of Harrisburg, NC; his grandchildren, Oliva and Jack Crocker; his children, Madisyn, Lauryn Cunha, Evelyn and Ashley Nelson; and his brother Roy T. Nelson (Lila Carlson) of Uxbridge, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home (42 Concord St, Maynard, MA 01754). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
