“For some reason, whenever I heard the Carole King song, "Jazz Man," it always reminded me of Joanie. We could walk to their house from ours. Joanie and my mother and Susie have been friends since high school, so we grew up with their kids. Ann Marie came into the picture a few short years later, and we added her and her kids (and later, her husband Jerry) into the mix. We don't see each other these days like we used to, but I still love them all, like family, and I always will.”
