It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Russell R. Bessette of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, born in Acushnet, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 25, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bessette and Mary Jane Bessette (Poulin); and his siblings, Donald, Normand, Fernand, Joseph Bessette and Pauline Ramos (Bessette).
He is survived by: his wife Claire; his daughters, Danielle Galley (Paul) and Leanne Nadeau (Joseph Loccisano); his grandchildren, Rose (Galley), Hall (Tyler), Laura (Galley), Jennewein (Blake), Nicholas Nadeau, Abigail Nadeau, Christian Nadeau, Andrew Nadeau, David Nadeau and Isabelle Loccisano; his great grandchild Calvin Hall; and his cousin Robert Bessette (Donna). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 114 16th Street, #2011, Charleston, MA 02129 and to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, 577 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
