She was predeceased by: her parents, Miguel Varela and Maria Semedo; and her children, Alcides Lopes and Alice Varela Lopes. She is survived by: her husband Jose Lopes; and her children, Clarisse Varela Lopes, Maria DeJesus Lopes, Sergio Lopes, Ambroseo Varela Lopes, Teresa Varela Lopes, Domingas Lopes-Jacinto and Zene Varela Lopes. She is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren, and a host of many more relatives and friends.
