He was predeceased by: his parents, Vurlin O. Ward, Sr. and Loretta M. Ward (Gidley); his wife Arlene M. Ward (Curtin); and his brothers, Stephen Ward and Donald Ward.

He is survived by: his children, John V. Ward and Anne-Marie McManus (Michael); his grandchildren, Henry and Erin; and his sisters, Rosalee Konikowski, JoAnn Pazdar (Theodore) and Janey Rossitto.
