He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Stewart and O. Wellington Stewart; his former spouse Gail Peterson; his brothers, Oswald, Pearson and David; and his nieces and nephews, Ian Stewart and Jeneba Allard.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Stewart of Squantum; his children, Karen Pettengill (Sam), Michael Stewart (Stephanie) and Lusia Stewart; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Stewart; his daughters, Julie Bagchi (Sam), Kimberly D'Angelo (Jamie) and Claire Fitzgerald (Stephen Costello); his grandchildren, Jael Gorham (Brian), Evan Reed Stewart, Kate Cohen (David), Bonnie, Catherine Stewart, Christopher Allard (Kelly), Anjali, Annalise, Emma, Jack, Maia and Marjorie; and his great grandchildren, Lina, Rose, Alice, Nora and Eli. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
