He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marie Spadaro Rooney; his children, Lisa Rooney Greenwood (David) of Marshfield, David Rooney (Linda Lord Rooney) of Monroe, CT, Kelly Rooney Clements of Scituate and Diana Rooney DeCoste (Russell DeCoste) of Marshfield; and his grandchildren, Kayla, DJ, Molly, Michael Greenwood, Kiersten, Danielle (Smith), Emily, Trevor Rooney, Kyle, Jack Clements, Russell and Jake DeCoste.

A private memorial service is planned post pandemic.
