He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Fonseca and Mary G. Fonseca (Gracia); and his brother Jose Ceasar. He is survived by: his children, Edward L. Fonseca, III of Onset and Denise M. Fonseca of Maryland; his grandson Anthony Fonseca; and his brother Ben Silva (Diane M. Fonseca).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Edward "Butch" Fonseca, Jr. Athletic Scholarship Fund, c/o Rockland Federal Credit Union, 241 Union Street, Rockland MA 02370.
