He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell G. Mattson and Elsa K. Mattson (Carlson); and his brother Edward Mattson. He is survived by: his wife Vicki; his children, Kristin Robinson (Bill) of Rockland and Jeffrey Mattson; his grandchildren, Billy, Vivian and Alanah; and his brothers, Paul Mattson (Brett) and Chuck Mattson (Donna). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
