He is survived by: his wife Katherine Rossmoore; his sons, Raphael (Vida Richter) of Truro, Justin Shields of Somerville and Tyler Shields of San Diego; his grandchildren, Mica and Harper Richter; and his siblings, Bob Shields (Charlotte) of Charlottesville, VA, Tom Shields (Kaye Lynch) of San Antonio and Beth Guastella (Mike) of New York City. He is also survived by nephews and a special niece.
