He was predeceased by: his sons, Scott Willard, Robert Willard and William Willard. He is survived by: his son Jacob Chaffe of Winchendon; his grandsons, Brandon Chaffe of Ware and Bryan Chaffe of Ware; and the mother of his children Viola Chaffe of Ware.
