It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Edward Shaffer of Marblehead, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his brother David Shaffer; and his parents, Sidney Shaffer and Josephine Shaffer. He is survived by : his wife Joan Sandra Shaffer; his children, Elizabeth Lamb and Alyson Shaffer; his grandchildren, Zachary Lamb, Rebecca Lamb, Casper Zurosky and Hugo Zurosky; and his great grandchildren, Zander, Levi Lamb and Emmett Lamb.

A funeral service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Maple Hill Cemetery (98 Canterbury Dr, Peabody, MA 01960).

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
