He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Torto and Lucy Torto (Petrucci); and his wife Carol Torto (McGrath). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Torto (Rowen); his children, Stephanie (Jon), Pamela (Michael) and Nathaniel; his brother Philip; his sister-in-law Elly; his niece Elissa; his nephew Michael; his grandchildren, Emma, Katie, Cameron, Chase and Hunter; and his cousin Bob.
