John Edward left this world on April 4, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Genevieve Ranta (Mogavero) and John Edward Ranta; his brother James Ranta; and his grandchild Charlie Nolan Ranta. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Hemenway Ranta; his children, Ned Ranta, Keith Ranta and Allison Church (Mike) of Marblehead; his sister Elaine D'Alessandro; and his grandchildren, Lilly, Brady, Lucy, Annie Church and Sofia Ranta.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead (142 Elm St, Marblehead, MA 01945). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church (85 Atlantic Ave, Marblehead, MA 01945).
