He was predeceased by: his wife Mary M. Gilbert (Ferreria); and his parents, Walter R, Sr. and Lillian F. Gilbert (Teel). He is survived by: his daughters, Marcia J. Desmarais (late Paul) of Taunton, Elizabeth S. Cashman (William) of Haverhill and Janet L. Holmes (Richard) of New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Kathryn E. Brown (Stephen) of Mansfield, Christian P. Desmarais of Taunton and Vanessa J. Desmarais of Cambridge; and his great grandchildren, Ella, Patrick and Vivien Brown of Mansfield.
