“Anthony and I send our sincerest condolences. Ryan is one of my best friends and it was a joy and privilege to know Rick. I vividly remember how generous he was towards me when I joined Ryan for a fun trip in Vegas in my early 20s. We called him the "high roller" and he made me belly laugh throughout that trip. His laugh, kindness, and sincerity will never be forgotten. He will be truly missed.”

Jim LHeureux wrote a sympathy message

“Rick and I met as teenagers. We had a mutual circle of friends that became lifelong friends. Over the years we played a lot of sports, a lot of card games and shared a lot of laughs. Our kids grew up together and THEY became friends. Our families spent time together at holiday events. He was always a great guy - kind, and generous - someone who always kept an eye out for opportunities to help out. I can truly say I never heard him say an unkind word to anyone. I will miss you Rick - we all will.”

Shanna Marzilli wrote a sympathy message

“Janet, Derek, Ryan and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Rick was such a wonderful person - funny. caring, smart, hardworking - and I know his passing must leave a big void. Rick was larger than life at Blue Cross. Everyone knew him and everyone loved him. He was incredibly effective and as he rose to more senior roles, he stayed humble. He was the most significant mentor in my career. I think often about what he taught me, including that family comes first. Shanna Marzilli”
