It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E. (Mealy) O'Brien (Mansfield, Massachusetts), who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John P. O'Brien; her parents, Matthew F. Mealy and Bertha E. Mealy (Dyer); and her brothers, Dr. Robert F. Mealy and Richard J. Mealy.
She is survived by: her children, Deacon John (Janis) of Mansfield, Julie O'Brien (Amy Hanlon) of South Yarmouth and Maryellen O'Brien (Ken Bruetsch) of Gainesville, VA; and her grandchildren, Megan O'Brien, Katie O'Brien, Emily Heaney, Kevin Heaney and Melissa Heaney.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home (55 N Main St, Mansfield, MA 02048). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (330 Pratt St, Mansfield, MA 02048).
