He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Julie Brophy (Walsh); his former wife Celeste Sullivan; his sons, John M Brophy III (Rachel), Benjamin Stavros and Daniel Brophy; and his grandson John "Jake" M. Brophy IV.
