He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles A. Herrick and Esther Herrick (Frost); his wife Mary L. "Dolly" Herrick (Doucette); and his children, John B. Herrick Jr. (Kimberly), Lisa Ann Lagrassa and Christine Sortwell. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
