Anne McCarthy-Chouinard Obituary
Anne McCarthy Chouinard, age 89, of Manchester-by -the-Sea passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was the wife of the late Maurice Chouinard.
Born in Boston, Anne was the cherished daughter of Tim and Katherine (Kearns) Mc Carthy. Anne's life was defined by her love of people and boundless energy. Anne received her Master's Degree from Massachusetts Teacher's College and taught Kindergarten in the Franklin School in Medford for 14 years. She then worked at Street and Company in Boston for over 30 years.
Her kindness extended well beyond her professional life. Anne loved to travel and visited places like Greece, Turkey, the Caribbean as well as landmarks around the USA, but the Magnolia Beaches always brought her home. Anne shared her love of singing in her church choirs and playing piano for family and friends. Anne loved attending family gatherings, shopping with friends at Macy's or TJ Maxx, or dining with friends at Sylvan Street Grille every Thursday evening.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Leslie and her husband Robert; Catherine Sheehan of California and Joseph Mc Carthy and his wife Sheila of Magnolia, MA. She also treasured her many Nieces and Nephews who brought great joy into her life, and many friends including lifelong friends Dorothy McDermott and Debra Gallagher.
As the Irish Blessing says, "Until we meet again" and we surely shall, "May God hold you in the palm of his hand."Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester-by-the-Sea at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers 01923.
