He was predeceased by: his wife Rosemary Cavanaugh (Bell); his parents, John F. Cavanaugh and Mary G. Cavanaugh (McDonough); and his brother Robert Cavanaugh (Bob). He is survived by: his children, Janet Barry (Jim) of Reading, Judy Cavanaugh of Malden, Susan Stowers (Eric) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Richard C. Cavanaugh (Silvia) of Malden and Christine Gately (Sean) of Braintree; his grandchildren, Meghan, Jimmy, Emma, Kate, Connor, Ryan and Lucy; his brother John Cavanaugh (Geraldine); and his sister-in-law Barbara Cavanaugh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
