She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ralph Zumpfe and Elizabeth Zumpfe; her siblings, Cheryl (Anthony Gerniglia), Susan (Ken Boomhower), Robin (John Morey), Kimberly (Marco Cerbone) and Mary; her daughters, Krystal Ann Mackey (Myke Gajadhar) and Katrina Elizabeth Mackey (James Carter III); her grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, Mykey, Jordan, Kameren and Logan; and her close friend Naomi Winterburn. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a foundation is being created in Karen's memory to continue Karen's legacy of caring for others.
