It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James W. O'Brien of Malden, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 4, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James W. O'Brien to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Claire O'Brien (Enos) and John Francis O'Brien; his siblings, Janet Kane and John O'Brien (Jack); and his great-grandparents, Catherine and William O'Brien.

He is survived by: his daughters, Marilyn Knowlton of Wakefield, MA, Brenda O'Brien of Malden, MA and Kathleen O'Brien of Freeport, ME; and his close friend Elaine Gadon of Winthrop, MA. He is also survived by two nieces a nephew and two grandchildren.
