Leona Kelly Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 12, 2022, at the age of 79, Leona Kelly of Lynn, Massachusetts, born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband John D. Kelly, Sr.; her parents, Arthur L. Masse and Rita M. Masse (Poirier); her daughter Denise A. Torres; and her sister Janet Lilly.

She is survived by: her children, John D. Kelly, Jr. (Marie) of Danvers and Rita M. Grussi (Sergio) of Lynn; her sister Shirley Tranfaglia (Charles) of Florida; her grandchildren, Cassandra Grussi, Sergio Grussi, II, Savannah Connor, Angel Torres and Mason Kelly; her close friend Donald (Peggy Harvey); and her niece Jennifer DiGregorio. She is also survived by her 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leona's memory to Boston's Children Hospital, http://www.childrenshospital.org.

We spent many hours hanging out together at the senior center, the donut shop Friday nights, George’s on Saturday mornings, shopping at Walmart, they loved going shopping. I will always cherish all the happy times we shared together. Now, may she and John Rest In Peace, in love, by one another’s side.”

“Leona, I will always remember watching the Masked Singer each week and the crazy costumes. The Lifetime movies each week were suspenseful as we enjoyed hot chocolate/tea and snacks on cold nights with Jimmy. Crocheting with you as you made the lap blanket for Shirley. I will forever remember Molly and her stroller which you had me make a blanket and pillow for, along with the wardrobe of clothes she had. Forever in our hearts and will be surely missed Veronica and Jimmy Richards-DiGregorio.”
