He was predeceased by: his mother Angela R. Diaz (Toribio); and his sister Jacqueline Diaz. He is survived by: his father José A. Diaz; his daughters, Arlene Diaz of Lynn and Shaila Diaz of New York; and his siblings, Yudelka Diaz, Primitivo A. Diaz, Josefina Diaz, Jaqueline Guzman, Carlos Diaz and Nancy Diaz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
