She was predeceased by: her husband Gordon James; her parents, Herman Petterson and Elizabeth Petterson; her grandson Joey James; and her siblings, Sherman Petterson, Herman "Sonny" Petterson and Dianne Walker.

She is survived by: her children, David James (Nancy), Gary James (Joanne), Dianne James, Greg James and Peter James; and her grandchildren, Jared James, Jill Monteforte, Jason James, Shanel Anderson, Shyra Broughton, Peter Anderson, Dylan Gates, Scott Barry, Evelyn L'Italien and Ean James.
