Though James Richard may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Richard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Goodwin and Beatrice M. Goodwin (Walsh); and his sisters, Virginia, Mary and Judy.
He is survived by: his daughter Christine Skinner of Haverhill; and his granddaughter Katherine Skinner of Woburn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A procession will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (4 Herbert St, Melrose, MA 02176).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in James's memory to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 1775 Semper Fidelis Way.
