James L. Bernardini Obituary
James "Jim" Leslie Bernardini, 73, of Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022. Jim was born in Boston, MA, on October 26, 1949, and was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Trombetta) Bernardini.
Jim grew up in Hyde Park, MA, with his two brothers and mother. He was particularly athletic in his younger years and enjoyed swimming at the local YMCA. As a child, Jim had a fondness for frozen pudding ice cream. He was a talented pool player, a "pool shark," if you will. Jim played pool throughout his life and shared his love of the game with his son, Jason.
Jim was always well-dressed, taking great pride in his appearance. He spent many cherished summers in Eastham and Wellfleet, MA, enjoying the seaside with his family. Jim was a lifelong Red Sox and Celtics fan who updated his daughter on the home team's standings when she moved out of state. Jim loved animals of all kinds having many cats and dogs over the years.
Jim was a jack of all trades, having worked in many different fields but was best known as a skilled cabinet maker in Franklin, MA. He proudly built the second floor of his home in Franklin with the help of his late uncle, Buddy. Before that, Jim was a respected recruiter at Bay State School of Appliance in Canton, MA, and the assistant director at the Boston Secure Treatment Center for Juveniles.
His world revolved around his two children, Jason and Victoria. Even when he was not with his children physically, he never failed to provide them with unwavering love and support, answering phone calls at any time.
Jim is survived by his children Jason James Bernardini of North Attleboro, MA, and Victoria Maren Bernardini of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his brother Francis Bernardini, his wife Stephanie of Rockport, MA, and his brother Joseph Bernardini and his wife Karen Train of Canton, MA. In addition, he is survived by his nieces Rachael and Ashley and his nephews Joseph, Michael and Alexander.
In place of flowers or charitable donations, Jim's children ask that you take time to dig your toes into the warm sand, close your eyes and feel the sun on your skin, skip a rock and, most importantly, practice compassion and understanding for those around you.
