He was predeceased by: his parent William Sutherland; and his child David R. Sutherland. He is survived by: his spouse Marlene Sutherland (Leslie); his parent Ethel Sutherland (Dodge); his children, Betty Sutherland-Dumas (Steve) of Lynn, Susan Hefler Downey (Joseph) of Lynn and Gerald W. Sutherland, Jr of Kittery, ME; his stepchildren, Andy Valentin, Jr., Tina Daniels of Beverly and Steven Valentin (Camelia) of St. Louis, MO; and his close friends, Mike and John. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many friends.
