Vera Wiitala Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vera Wiitala of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 20, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Erland Haanpaa and Hilma Haanpaa (Maennpaa); her husband Donald R. Wiitala, Sr.; her son Donald R. "Butch" Wiitala, Jr.; and her siblings, Eero Haanpaa, Arno Haanpaa, Lauri Haanpaa, Elma "Blondie" Lashua, Jennie Morse and Helen Varney.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra "Sandy" Testa of Fitchburg, Judith "Judy" Powell (late Raymond) of Lunenburg, MA, Kathrine Lally of Fitchburg, MA and David Wiitala (Donna) of Lunenburg, MA; and her daughter-in-law Sandy Wiitala of New Ipswich, NH. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
