He was predeceased by: his wife Theola Black (Curry); his parents, Henley Black and Rosella Black; and his brothers, Calvin, Melvin, John Henry, Raymond, Glenn and James.

He is survived by: his children, Darlene S. Black of Lowell, Tanya Black and Dominic Black of Maryland; his grandchildren, Delaney Williams, Tatiana Black, Aniyah Waddy and Kaeden Waddy; his great grandchildren, Cameron Watts and Azariyah Black; and his sisters, Dorothy (Donnell Chance), Pecolia Autry, Mildred Criss, Marie Rivers and Helen (Daniel Taylor). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Lowell Cemetery (77 Knapp Ave, Lowell, MA 01852).
