She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving Emerson and Phyllis Emerson (Gray); her family Ema; and her sister Deborah Wheeler. She is survived by: her children, Daniel Souza of Manchester, NH, Karen (Michael Mercuri) of Lowell, MA, Erika Souza of Lowell, MA and Kerrianne Souza of Lowell, MA; and her brothers, Sonny (Sheila Emerson) of Lowell, MA and Robert (Eileen Emerson) of Chelmsford, MA. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
