He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Arthur Poitras, Sr. and Katherine Poitras (Martin); his wife Nancy; and also, Dorothea Fleming and Florence Shanahan.
He is survived by: his sons, J. Arthur Poitras, III (Leslie) of Dracut and David Poitras (Pascale) of Palos Verdes; his grandchildren, Timothy Poitras of Dracut, Yolande Poitras of Los Angeles and Chantal Poitras of Austin; his sisters, Melanie Buccola of Port Orange and Denise Dodge of North Carolina; his siblings-in-law, Roberta and Richard Desjardins of Nashua, NH; his nephew John O'Neal (Dawn); his great-nephew Jay of Merrimack, NH; and his nephew Bradley Desjardins of Nashua, NH..
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McDonough Funeral Home (14 Highland St, Lowell, MA 01852). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church (374 Stevens St, Lowell, MA 01851).
