He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvatore Macchiaroli and Emilia Macchiaroli (DiFilippo); his significant other JoAnna Macchiaroli (Stein); and his sisters, Clelia Tucci, Maria Valitutti, Flora Pepe and Velia Capossela.
He is survived by: his children, Gianmarco Macchiaroli of Denver Colorado, Lea Macchiaroli of Westbrook Connecticut and Paola Macchiaroli (Thomas Drohan) of Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Aidan and Siena Drohan; his brother Giovanni Macchiaroli (Louann) of Annandale Virginia; and his nephew Riccardo Macchiaroli.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Silvano's name to the Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199, to support continued surgical research and education.
