He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Murtagh and Marie Murtagh. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cacioli; his son Thomas; his daughter-in-law Ann; his daughter Marisa; his grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin and William; and his sisters, Virginia Murtagh (NJ) and Noreen Potenza (NJ).
Thomas was actively involved in, and held leadership positions at, the Greater Boston YMCA, the Boston Bar Association and the Boston Bar Foundation.
