It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Susanne Gail (Hirsh) Sandberg of Lexington, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Richard D. Sandberg; her children, David Sandberg (Viorica), Rachel MacMaster and Daniel Sandberg (Melissa); her sister Jane Coppola (Peter); her grandchildren, Chelsea, Emily, Nicholas and Steven; her nephews, Peter, Steven and Andrew; and her parents, Harold Hirsh and Helen Hirsh. She was also cherished by extended family and many caring friends.

“Condolences to Dick, Jane, Rachel, Steven. I know my mother Audrey had kept in touch with Sue despite not being able to see her often. I believe the last time was 20 years ago when Sue kindly came to MIT when I was speaking there. I was able to get to know her a bit after my mother died through email correspondence and I was pleased to be able to learn more by watching today's ceremony. It sounds like she was a progressive and genuine person and I wish I had been able to have known her better.”
