He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Cris; his daughters, Carissa of Redwood City and Stephanie of Berkeley; his sons-in-law, Ty and Jason; his grandchildren, Desmond, Dante, Teo and Jada; his siblings, Connie, Bob, Jim, Chuck, Tim, Tom and Mike; and his parents, Jane T. Carter and Chester E. Carter. He was also cherished by his wife and close friends, and also visiting with his grandchildren.
He devoted much time and energy fundraising for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, and supporting its charity events.
