He was predeceased by: his parents, Elias Israel Cohen and Eva Orlen Cohen; and his wife Bonnie. He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah and Tamar Cohen (Don Gates); his grandson Alden Gates of Oakland, CA; his great grandchild Deborah Russell (Nicholas Russell); his sister Arden Rauch (Ellen Fladger); his brother-in-law Avi Liveson (Linda Regan); and also Cordelia Russell of Berkeley, CA.. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, and 15 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Donations in Mitchell's memory can be made to the Jewish Combined Philanthropies or the National Academy of Sciences.
