He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Balvinder Singh Gahunia, Kuldip Singh, Kalwinder Kaur, Tarsem Kaur, Balbir Singh, Pal Singh Gahunia and Jasvir Kaur; and his siblings, Gurmail Singh, Mohan Singh, Mahinder Kaur, Surinder Kaur and Sucha Singh. He was also cherished by 20 loving grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
