He is survived by: his wife Alice; his sons, Bruce A. Benkley (Wendy), Carl W. Benkley (Nina), Fred G. Benkley III (Heather), Kurt B. Benkley (Laurie), Mark V. Benkley (Joanne), Paul D. Benkley (Nathalie) and Switzerland; his grandchildren, Christina James (Trevor), David Benkley (Lacy), Marie, Dylan, Brianna, Bianca, Luke, Elise, John, Norah, Tyler, Emily and Melissa; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Grace, Eden and Ezra.
He also made contributions to the U.S. Air Force's AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) program.
