He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Rivard and Maryanne Rivard (Tanguay); his former wife Rose Marie Rivard (Allain); his stepson Scott Vallee; and his siblings, Joseph "Lefty" Rivard and Yvette Rivard.
He is survived by: his wife Constance B. Rivard (Barrett); his sons, Ronald D. Rivard of Fitchburg, Kenneth Rivard of Texas and Robert J. Rivard of Leominster; his stepchildren, Steven Vallee of New Brunswick, Canada and Deborah Rivard of Lunenburg; his grandchildren, Chris Rivard, Ryan Rivard, Daniel Rivard, Michelle Levesque, Jamie Welch, Tim Rivard, Mike Rivard and Cassie Rivard; and his brothers, Gerald Rivard, Maurice Rivard and Roland Rivard. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
