He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Cavanagh and Katherine Cavanagh (Barr) of Lancaster; his wife Elfriede Goetz; his sister Mary Stanton; his nephew Joseph Aubuchon; his brother-in-law Rudi Goetz; and his in-laws, Joseph and Elfriede Goetz.
He is survived by: his sister Ellen Aubuchon (Ernest) of Lunenburg; his nieces, Elizabeth Souza (Steve) of Leominster and Mary Healy (Edward) of Leominster; his sister Clare Breen (Jeremiah) of Fitchburg; his nephews, Patrick (Leeanna) of Groton, Sean (Benedict) of Berlin, Germany., Robert of Michigan and Bryan Goetz of Michigan; his sisters-in-law, Margaret Goetz of California and Jean Goetz of Michigan; and also, Daniel Cavanagh (Sherri) of Leominster and Julia Gionet (Mark) of Fitchburg. He is also survived by 10 grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc. (109 West St, Leominster, MA 01453). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Nazareth Church (750 Union St, Leominster, MA 01453).
