He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph A.; his siblings, Lawrence Poirier, Pauline O'Malley and Elaine Mills; and his daughter Melissa Poirier.
He is survived by: his parent Alma Poirier (Ethier); his wife Joan (Johnson); his children, Deborah Nichols (Michael) of Waltham, Joseph Poirier (Jaquelyn) of Ashburnham and Elizabeth "Betsy" McGregor (Curt) of Winchendon; his stepchildren, Barry Morin (Karen) of Dracut, Kevin Morin (Sharon) of Dracut and Jeffrey Morin (Jennifer Fossarelli) of Methuen; and his grandchildren, James McGregor, Michele Young, Keli Poirier, Travis McGregor, Joseph P. Poirier, Jr., Michael, Nicole, Hunter and Jeremy Morin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
