He is survived by: his parents, George Carey and Charlotte Sires Carey; his wife Carole Dellert Carey; his children, Mark E. Carey (Laura) of Stockbridge and Deborah C. Decker (Mike) of Durham, CT; his grandchildren, Amelia Carey, Isabella Carey, Michael Decker and Megan Decker; and his brother Louis H. Carey (Carol) of Lenox.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
