He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline MacDowell (Goldthwait) and Irving MacDowell; and his brothers, Richard MacDowell (Dick), Kenny MacDowell and Robin MacDowell.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte (Thompson) of Lee; his daughters, Kathy Shakley (Todd) of Londonderry, N. H. and Michelle Araujo (Marlon) of Brockton, MA; his sister Jean Blake of Pittsfield, MA; and his grandsons, Casey, Jesse Littlefield, Michael Derek Salerno and Adam Shakley. He is also survived by several sisters and brothers in law.
